Uganda Bound!!

Amazima Ministries
Well, it's done. Deposit sent....passport being renewed ( hadn't used that sucker in ten years!)....shots needed (gulp)....and a very, very, very settled Flo. I had been unsettled for the past six months. I knew I wanted to go, but for some reason couldn't commit. I finally said yes, and it feels like a burden has been lifted. It'll be hard to leave my girls for 12 days, but I can't wait to have an experience to share with them......and hopefully take them there one day.

We are headed to Amazima Ministries in Jinja, Uganda. Amazima operates a sponsorship program for orphans to receive food, care, education, and Bible study/fellowship. It also offers a feeding program that provides a hot meal to over 1,200 people daily.....all started by a 20-something year old girl named Katie. (And here I thought I was too young to make a difference.)

I'm traveling with a group of young women I know, as well as, others I have yet to meet. Honestly? My fellow Uganda bound friend, Jenna, said, "I'm more worried about re-entry than anything else." Re-entry back into our lives. Where there's plenty of food to go 'round. Where I can blow $100 at (fill in the blank) on things I don't need. I guess I can't concern myself with that now. I'm concerned mostly with getting paperwork settled, getting my funds together, and my heart prepared for this mission.

If anyone so wishes to be a part of this mission, your tax-deductible donation will help not just cover costs, but help fill my suitcase with items such as Tylenol/Motrin, lice shampoo, soap, etc. to leave with Amazima Ministries. If you can't go, your $ will be blessed!

To donate:
Designate a Team Member: Florence Ferrell
Trip: Uganda July22-Aug 2

Thank you! God bless!
