Closing the Ol' Doors....

Here it was. The opening day of my booth at Winnie & Tulula's (affectionately referred to as "Winnie & Tuboobies" by me and my hubs.....we joke alot.) One month shy of a full year ago to be exact.

This weekend, I cleaned out my space and said goodbye.

The owner, in her elegant way, blew kisses in the air and with warmth in her eyes said, "Come back soon." Whether that be as a shopper or a booth owner in days far off, who knows.

As much fun as it was, I had to make a decision. During the summer months, I had no problem keeping my space fresh and fluffed.....but during the school year, the extra time just wasn't there. And any of you who've been in that store, being the 'sad' booth just ain't for me.

Also, it's looking very certain that this summer, my family and I will be gone - together - for two months. I certainly couldn't keep up from afar......

"Goin' with the Flo" will still be refurbishing pieces and donating though! I can't make it without my paint therapy....it'll just be one at a time. Client pieces. Selling on Craigslist. That sort of thing.

It has been an extraordinary experience, and I'm glad I took the plunge.

Client Redo #2

BEFORE
So this piece was painted ASCP Provence....out of all her blues, this is my fave. It just pops. This precious dresser will be used for a newborn baby, and it needed love just like it's new owner.

After!
I love that it had two coats of paint underneath....the white and grey peek through nicely!

Newborn babies....sigh.....

Savin' Bundles!

Ok. So this post is not quite "Extreme Coupon" worthy, but it's about as close to it as this workin' gal is going to get. My sweet friend introduced me to a lady that makes a little extra cash each month by selling rolls of each week's newspaper inserts for different grocery stores. I'm talkin' wayyy different. Stores I've never heard of, and of course, some that I have.

You make your list, keep it organized, take it to "Wally world" where they will price match. It was really easy and took all the 'complexities' out of those supersaver couponers. (I really don't have the time to mail in rebates or drive to 3 different stores....!) Now some of you have probably been doing this for ages, but me? This past week was my first time.

HOLLA.

I bought all this.....name brand stuff folks (not the off/off brands that taste like drywall)....

for under $100. Do you see those two bags of frozen chicken breasts? (2 for $10). Do you see those Capri Suns? ( $1.79) Do you see that Dial? ($1.67) DigGiorno pizza? ($3.98)

I probably saved close $50 and I didn't even try very hard. Maybe an extra 30 minutes.

I even went shopping with this one. I earn an award.

This week, my Walmart bill was $78.
I lurve this.

Sixty Feet Weekend

Saturated with rich experiences. United with one heart.

Deepening of friendships. Beginning new ones, as well.

That's just a small sampling of how I would describe this past weekend. My hubs and I flew to Atlanta, Georgia, to see the premiere of Sixty Feet's new movie "Beloved" and meet the team behind it all. To say that we were blessed is a drastic understatement.

We were thrust into a world of like minds. Regardless of age, income, race, or background, all of us were together in support of an organization who backs up their mission with integrity, heart, and a huge dose of crazy fun.

I was immediately 'hugged' into friendship from Day 1. The first night, an open door at a stranger's home led to instant hopping, screaming, and 'neck hugging galore', as my hubs and I were treated to food and fellowship with the Sixty Feet board members and other guests. I was a bit taken aback! Yes, I knew they would be nice.....but instant crazy nice? Instant hugs and laughter? Instant friendship and shared stories of how God has worked in amazing ways? Follow that up with prayer and worship while sneaking a peak at tiny faces staring down from the hallway above......

That led to even more food and fellowship the rest of the weekend. My husband bonded while running in the ATL with a new friend (of course!) and I just sat back in amazement while each story with a new friend turned into something much deeper than 'just a conversation'.

Sixty Feet is an organziation that I'm so blessed to have gotten to know. It is integrity. It is heart. It is action. Visit their website if you want to know more www.sixtyfeet.org

Instant friends - for real. My North Dakota gals!

Chick-fil-a fans! (their first #1 combo happened this weekend!)

Fellow ladies from my Uganda trip. Sweet, sweet...
Can we say Hu-Lar-E-Us?
Lucas and Colleen from My Ugly Couch blog.

Truly, richly blessed this weekend. Thanks guys.

Happy 3 Sophie!

Birthday Girl!
So Princess Sophie turned 3 in January. January birthdays are hard.....it's usually cold. Indoor places are hard to find in our small town, and well, home birthdays have been the 'norm' for this little one. We decided for her '3', we should do it up right. Enter the Princess Tea Party!

The cake

Sweetness....

Adorable tea party decorations!

The guests....What's a princess without make-up?

Sissy and cousin Ella - in blue.

A huge thank you to My Favorite Things. This adorable coffee shop made this tea party 100% special and easy - bonus for me! All I did was bring my camera. This mom is happy!

We love you!
